Will the French be able to persuade the UK Government to contribute tax payers money to the Nuclear New Builds and keep our cities lights on, or shall we wait and see if the Wind Turbines will turn or the Fracking will for Shale Gas will crack our country in half .

Westinghouse Shaw Delight for US new build
American safety regulators gave the go-ahead today for the construction of two new nuclear power reactors.
The vote by the five-member commission brought to an end a regulatory process lasting almost four years that confirmed the safety of building two Westinghouse AP1000 reactors at the Vogtle site in Georgia. It is the first combined construction and operating licence issued by the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).

Japan Nuclear UPDATE
Workers continued to restore external power to the stricken Fukushima Daiichi units, although work was briefly interrupted when smoke was seen coming from unit 3. Efforts at the plant have been helped by assistance from both domestic and foreign companies.
Workers at the site have already successfully connected an external power cable to the distribution switchboard for units 1 and 2. The integrity of each of the unit's electrical systems is being investigated before they are connected.....

The magnitude 9.0 Miyagiken-Oki earthquake at 2.46 pm on 11 March did considerable damage, and the tsunami it created caused even more. It was centred 130 km offshore of the city of Sendai in Miyagi prefecture on the eastern cost of Honshu Island. At last Britain's liberalised electricity market is being reformed to meet long term climate change goals by encouraging low-carbon generation of nuclear power.

KEY to unlock Nuclear NEW builds
The three firms wanting to build nuclear power plants in the UK said today with one voice that energy market reform is "absolutely key" to their plans.
The words were used in turn by Olivier Carret of newly named NuGeneration, Alan Raymant of Horizon Nuclear Power and Chris Bakken of EdF Energy. All three spoke at the Nuclear Industry Association's annual Energy Choices conference today in London.

China`s massive Nuclear expansion plans
China National Nuclear Corp (CNNC) plans to invest 800 billion yuan ($120 billion) into nuclear energy projects by 2020, in line with the country's move to accelerate the development of the industry, the China Daily reported.

First contracts for new Nuclear plants in UK
At a supply chain event for UK contractors yesterday, EDF Energy announced that it has awarded over £50 million ($77 million) worth of contracts for the first nuclear power plant it plans to build in the UK.
Together with its investment partner, Centrica, EDF Energy plans to build four Areva EPR reactors by 2025, two each at its Hinkley Point and Sizewell sites. The company expects the first unit, at Hinkley Point C, to be operating by 2018.

UAE Nuclear Build Operate Transfer Contract Award
UAE are set to award the First Nuclear Contracts before the end of 2009.
Emirates Nuclear Energy Corp (ENEC) are set to announce who will be awarded its first contracts for an estimated $41 billion atomic power program

E.ON & RWE Nuclear jobs at Oldbury/Wylfa
RWE npower and E.ON UK have declared further details of their nuclear joint venture, which is to be called Horizon Nuclear Power.
The company will begin operation from 16 November working from new headquarters near Gloucester.
The 50:50 joint venture was created in January and aims to develop around 6,000MW of new nuclear capacity in the UK – enough to power a city the size of Greater London – by 2025. The first reactor is expected to come online around 2020.

India and Russia would sign an agreement to build four reactors at the Kudankulam nuclear power plant, the Russian nuclear power chief said Tuesday. The bilateral agreement, initialled in February 2008, will be signed during Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's official visit to India Dec 4-6.
